Radix Evergreen is a grass seed cultivar developer and breeder. They are the inventors of Radix Hybrid bulbosa, the species comprising the Oakville bluegrass cover crop. It was developed over the course of more than a decade and has come into the commercial cover cropping market through the company’s partnerships with Vitidore and Columbia River Seed.
Columbia River Seed is a farmer cooperative based in Plymouth, WA responsible for processing, marketing, and growing primarily cool season turf grass in the Columbia River Basin. They began small-scale experimental production of Oakville bluegrass for Radix Evergreen in 2015 and expanded to 320 production acres by 2022 as the species became commercialized. They are now the co-op’s exclusive supplier of Oakville bluegrass seed
Vitidore provides agricultural stakeholders with tools for quantifying soil carbon sequestration and other metrics for natural capital. Natural capital is the stock of natural resources - vegetation, water, soils, and biodiversity - that provide ecosystem services.
